Auto Xtreme is a new auto dealer at 186 River St. in Montpelier Vermont. Owned and operated by two lifelong area residents, Rick Garand and Jamie Parker. Rick formerly owned the S.L. Garand Granite Company for 22 years, where he sold Granite Monuments and dabbled in the used car business for several years before deciding to make a move.
"Rick came to see me last winter", said Jamie "While I was housebound with a broken leg, and I couldn't run and hide. He said he wanted to open a used car dealership in Montpelier and he wanted a partner, so after consulting with our wives and families (9 kids between us), 'Yes' was the answer, and here we are."
Jamie worked for many years with the Walker dealerships, getting his start at the VW store in 1995, and moving to the Ford/Jeep store a year later. After 10 years or so, he went out on his own as an auto wholesaler. "I had always wanted to open my own dealership, but needed someone I knew and trusted to go in with me. Rick was the perfect fit. We both have the same strong work ethic, and feel above all honesty comes first, and we are probably the most laid-back dealership you'll ever experience."
